INDIANAPOLIS -- Oakland's Elle Nichols was named Horizon League Golfer of the Week for the week of April 14-21, announced by the league office Thursday.

Nichols, a native of Okemos, Mich., finished tied for runner-up for the third time this season with a one-day score of 74 (+2) at the rain-shortened Indiana State Spring Invitational on April 10 in Terre Haute, Ind. Her 74 was the best single round score of the spring season and just three strokes off her career best. This is her third weekly league honor of her career.

The Golden Grizzlies will conclude their 2015-16 season at the 2016 Horizon League Championship April 22-24 in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
