ROCHESTER, Mich. -- Women's golfer Fiona Schmidt has been named Oakland Student Athlete of the Week for the week of April 4-11 after shooting a career-best round of 70 (-1) to finish with a two-day score of 151 (+9), placing runner-up as the Oakland women's golf team captured the IPFW Spring Classic title April 3-4 in Fort Wayne, Ind.

Her second round score ties her for the fifth lowest round under par in school history and her two-day score is just one stroke behind her career best in a 36-hole tournament. Her runner-up finish is the highest of her career.

The Golden Grizzlies will conclude their 2015-16 season at the 2016 Horizon League Championship April 22-24 in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
