MALIBU, Calif. - Oakland third basemen Ben Hart went 3-for-3 with 2 RBIs and scored one run, while designated hitter Jordan Jackson hit a three-run home run as the Oakland baseball team defeated Pepperdine 7-2 in their season opener Friday evening at Eddy D. Field Stadium. Right fielder Tyler Pagano also went 2-for-3 with two doubles as Oakland won its first opening day game since 2009.
On the mound, Aaron Dehn and Jake Lee combined to give up five hits, one earned run and five strikeouts in eight innings pitched. The Golden Grizzlies will return for game two of the series Saturday, Feb. 20 with the first pitch scheduled for 4 p.m. ET.
