ROCHESTER, Mich. -- Men's basketball player Kay Felder has been named Oakland's Student Athlete of the Week for the week of Feb. 8-15 after breaking the Horizon League's all-time assists record Feb. 11 against Milwaukee.

Felder, a junior from Detroit, Mich., passed the 699 mark set by Xavier's Ralph Lee between 1982-86 by dishing out 12 assists to go along with his 22 points in a 93-85 loss to Milwaukee. He also posted 28 points and 7 assists on Feb. 13 in a 111-93 win over Green Bay to continue to lead the country in assists (9.2) and rank fifth in scoring at 24.6 points per game. The Golden Grizzlies (18-9, 10-4) are currently tied for second in the Horizon League and have won nine of their last 11 games.

The Oakland men's basketball team returns to action Monday, Feb. 15 as they travel to Wright State at 5:00 p.m.
