May 29, 2015 NCAA Prelim 100m Hurdles Results

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Serena San Cartier closed out her historic career running the second fastest 100m hurdles school record time of 13.73 to finish 40th at the 2015 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships East Preliminaries held at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University of North Florida. San Cartier's 13.73 sits behind her own school record of 13.55 which she set at the Hillsdale Last Chance Classic (May 7) to qualify for the NCAA Prelims.
In addition to being the first in program history to qualify for this event, San Cartier finished her career as a four-time Horizon League champion winning back-to-back 60m indoor and 100m outdoor hurdles titles in 2014 and 2015.
"Today marked the end of a very special career. Serena is by far the most decorated female athlete we have had in our program," said head coach Paul Rice. "It's very sad for me as I have worked very closely with her for the past five years. This has been a special year and I am so happy and proud of her for making it this far. Today she ran the second fastest time in school history, so that means the last two races she ran were both school records and the fastest of her career! We are going to miss her dearly, but our program is where it is because of athletes like Serena. I look forward to keeping up with her in the future and continuing to cheer her on in everything she does."
Gino Vitella will close out the NCAA East Prelims competition in the shot put on Saturday, May 30 at 5 p.m.
