NCC Gregory 3000m Steeplechase Results

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Andrew Bowman broke his own 3000m steeplechase school record with a time of 9:02.88 to finish second at the North Central College Gregory Final Qualifier Meet eclipsing his mark of 9:06.52 he set last week. The record time should be in consideration as a NCAA Preliminary qualifying time.

"It has been amazing to watch Andy's progression this season," said head coach, Paul Rice. "He has improved his time by 24 seconds from last year and now may have qualified for the NCAA's. We hope to find out Monday if he is in. If not, it has been an incredible season for him and I just can't wait to see his progress next year!"

Bowman was the only Oakland track and field student-athlete to compete at the event. The NCAA will announce the Championship Preliminary Round qualifiers on Monday, May 18.
