HL Outdoor Championships Friday Results

ROCHESTER, Mich. - Ashley Burr took second place in her 10,000m debut with a time of 37:31.57 while Meghan Daly broke the javelin school record with a throw of 113 feet, 11 inches to finish fourth on the first day of competition at the Horizon League Outdoor Track and Field Championships held at the Oakland Track and Field Facility on Friday.
Meagan Joiner currently sits in eighth place with 2226 points after four events in the Heptathlon. She also notched a ninth place finish in the discus with a throw of 116 feet, 7.0 inches. Jenae Curley also competed in her first 10,000m and just missed the podium finishing seventh at 38:25.08.
On the men's side, Gino Vitella finished 11th in the discus with a throw of 126 feet, 4.0 inches. In the 10,000m, Michael Cox finished eighth (32:42.00) followed by Matt Degraeve in ninth (32:49.02) and Tyler Delange rounding out the top 10 (33:15.87).
The second day of competition begins on Saturday, May 2 at 9 a.m. with the remaining five events of the men's decathlon followed by the final three events of the women's heptathlon.
