ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Oakland women's golf team returns to the course this week as they compete in the IPFW Spring Classic Sunday and Monday at Pine Valley Country Club (par 71, 6,003 yards) in Fort Wayne, Ind. The first two rounds begin Sunday with a shotgun start on 11 a.m., while on Monday teams will tee off at 10 a.m.

Last time out the Golden Grizzlies set the school record for a 54-hole tournament with a 906 to finish fifth at the Jackrabbit Invitational. Elle Nichols placed T17 with a 224 (+8) and Marianna Stepp carded a 226 (+10) to be T22.

Nichols leads the Golden Grizzlies with a 76.90 stroke average and two top-10 finishes including earning medalist honors at the Golden Grizzlies Invitational on Sept. 28. She is a two-time Horizon League Golfer of the Week.

Alyssa Albright is second on the team with a 78.81 stroke average, while Stepp is third at 79.29.

Last season, Oakland finished fourth at this event posting a 621 in two rounds of action. No live stats are available for this tournament.
