BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Elle Nichols finished T9 with a final score of 152 (+8), while Alyssa Albright shot a team-best 3-over-par 75 in the final round to lead the Oakland women's golf team to a seventh place finish (632/+56) at the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational on Stone Ridge Golf Club (Par 72, 5,960 yards).
"We had some great shots out there and then we had some that cost us a few too many shots," said head coach Alyssa Gaudio. "With a week and a half until the conference championship, I am confident we will put in the time and effort to sharpen our games and get us where we need to be."
Nichols recorded her fifth top-10 finish of her freshman campaign. Haylee Zyber recorded her second 79 of the weekend to place 21st, while Albright closed out the tournament in a share for 27th place.
Toledo captured the team title with an overall score of 606 (+30), three strokes in front of second-place Youngstown State. YSU's Emily Dixon earned medalist honors with a 1-over-par 145.
Oakland's next tournament will be the Horizon League Championship at Mission Inn Resort in Howie-in-the-Hills, Fla. April 24-26.
