FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Karine Celis earned a straight-set win at No. 2 singles Friday evening for Oakland tennis against IPFW as the Golden Grizzlies came up short against the Mastodons, falling 6-1.

Ceils outlasted IPFW's Alina Schibol to win 7-6 in the first set and then went on to post a 6-2 victory in the second and decisive set to earn the victory.

IPFW captured the other singles matches with straight-set wins.

In doubles play to start the contest, Oakland battled tough but the Golden Grizzlies were unable to secure wins. Camille Hemond-Hill and Celis dropped a 7-5 decision at No. 1 doubles, while Cam Sabourin and Juliana Guevara also were outlasted 7-5 at No. 3 doubles.

Oakland concludes the weekend's action Saturday, Feb. 7 against Evansville at 2 p.m. in Fort Wayne.
