 Horizon League Release
INDIANAPOLIS - Oakland swimmer Seth Timmons was named the Horizon League men's swimmer of the week for his performances last weekend against Cleveland State and Xavier. This week's honor is the first time for a weekly accolade for Timmons from the Horizon League.
In Oakland's double dual victory over both Horizon League foe Cleveland State and Xavier, Timmons was victorious in both of the distance freestyle events and came away as the lone two-time winner on the men's side for the Golden Grizzlies. In the 1000 free, Timmons touched first in 9:35.73, his second-fastest time this season in the event. Then, in the 500 free, Timmons posted a PR with a first-place time of 4:38.87.
Oakland is idle until the 2015 Horizon League Championship Feb. 25-28, where the Golden Grizzlies will aim to defend both their men's and women's titles at the Walter Schroeder Aquatic Center in Brown Deer, Wis. The Championship is hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
