ROCHESTER, Mich. - Men's basketball player Kay Felder has been named Oakland's Student-Athlete of the Week, for the week of Dec. 7-13, after leading the Golden Grizzlies to a pair of victories and averaging just under 30 points per game.
Felder, a junior from Detroit, Mich., was named College Sports Madness Conference Player of the Week after setting a career-high with 34 points at Toledo on 13-of-13 shooting from the free-throw line with six assists and three steals. The Golden Grizzlies defeated the Rockets, 76-64, for the first time inside Savage Arena since 1993. Felder started the week with 25 points, seven assists and six steals in a 83-72 home win against Binghamton. He has recorded over 20 points in every game this season and ranks in the top-10 in the NCAA in scoring per game at 24.6.
The men's basketball team will be on the road this weekend when they head to the Pacific Northwest to face Washington on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ET.
