ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Oakland men's basketball team will head south on I-75 on Saturday to face Toledo starting at 7 p.m. from Savage Arena. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN3 with Mason Lowry and Jay Gast on the call and also on WDFN 1130 AM with Neal Ruhl and Cortney Scott.

LAST TIME OUT
The Golden Grizzlies are coming off its second home win on Monday with a 83-72 victory against Binghamton. Kay Felder tallied a game-high 25 points, while Jalen Hayes collected his first double-double of the season with 12 points and a career-best 13 rebounds.

NCAA RANKINGS
The Golden Grizzlies rank 13th in the nation in points at 86.8, 26th in free-throw shooting at 75.1 percent and 25th in 3-point field goal percentage at 40.6. Felder is first in the country with 9.3 assists per game, 9th in the NCAA in points per game with 23.4 and 11th in total double-doubles with five. Max Hooper ranks second in the country in 3-pointers made per game with 4.25.

KAMPE STARTS CAREER AT TOLEDO
Head coach Greg Kampe started his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Toledo in 1978 and was promoted to assistant coach for the Rockets from 1979-84 before becoming the head coach at Oakland.

INSIDE THE MATCH-UP
The Rockets enter the game with a 6-3 record, including 3-1 against Horizon League schools, but are coming off a 75-72 loss to Detroit at Calihan Hall on Wednesday. Jonathan Williams scores a team-best 20.1 points per game, while Nathan Boothe comes into the game averaging 19.2 points and 9.4 rebounds per game.

SPECIAL KAY
Junior Kay Felder is cementing himself as one of the best players in the NCAA after being named the Horizon League Preseason Player of the Year and the Lute Olson Award Preseason Watch List, given to the nation's top player who has played at least two seasons. Felder was named the Lou Henson Award National and Horizon League Player of the Week after recording back-to-back double-doubles to begin the season and averaged 25 points and 11 assists. He began the season with five-straight games of 20-plus points and 10-plus assists. Felder surpassed 1,000 points earlier this season and currently ranks 29th in school history. He recently passed assistant coach Drew Valentine's mark of 1,069 points.

PRESEASON RANKINGS
After finishing their second season in the Horizon League with a 11-5 league record and a third-place finish in the standings, the Golden Grizzlies were selected second in this season's Horizon League Preseason Poll. Oakland was also selected No. 14 in the CollegeInsider.com Preseason Mid-Major Top 25 Poll.

Greg Kampe has been at Oakland for over three decades and coached the 13th-most games among active Division I coaches. His 32-year tenure at one school is third, behind Syracuse's Jim Boeheim (40 seasons) and Duke's Mike Krzyzewski (36 seasons). The Defiance, Ohio native has 540 wins, tied for 19th among active D1 coaches.

SOPHOMORE SENSATIONS
Redshirt Sophomores Jalen Hayes and Nick Daniels return for the Golden Grizzlies after being named to the Horizon League All-Freshman Team last season. Hayes averaged 11.2 points and 6.3 rebounds per game in league play. He was named Horizon League Freshman of the Week a league-best seven times last season. Daniels led the league with a .486 field goal percentage from beyond the arc.

NEW FACES MAKING AN IMPACT
The newest members of the Golden Grizzlies have already made a significant impact on the season. Percy Gibson has three double-doubles this season and is averaging 16.3 points and 8.9 rebounds. Sherron Dorsey-Walker nearly averages a double-double with 11.0 points and 8.9 rebounds per game. Brad Brechting leads the team in blocks and scored 12 points against Alcorn State.
