ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Oakland women's volleyball team will be on the road this weekend for a pair of Horizon League matches starting with Northern Kentucky on Friday at 7 p.m. and followed by Wright State on Saturday at 4 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Golden Grizzlies coming off a 1-1 weekend after dropping a tough five-set to league-leading Cleveland State but coming back to sweep Youngstown State the next day.

INSIDE THE MATCHES
All-time, Oakland is 6-0 against the Norse and 6-6 versus the Raiders, including winning the last six matches against WSU.

SCOUTING THE COMPETITION
Northern Kentucky comes into the match riding a five-set upset of league-leading Cleveland State on Tuesday. This will be the first matchup between the two teams since NKU joined the Horizon League this summer. The Norse are led by Keely Creamer and Haley Libs averaging over three kills per set and Mel Stewart with over five digs per set in league play. Wright State is 1-6 in Horizon League play entering this weekend led by Maddie Lohmeier averaging over 11 assists per match.

CLIMBING UP THE RECORD BOOKS
Several Golden Grizzlies are cementing their legacies within the Oakland volleyball program as they set several career records. Here is a list of Golden Grizzlies ranked in the top-10 all-time in the program's history:
Ciara Schultz: Second in school history with 108 services aces, passed by teammate Melissa Deatsch, and became the first player in school history to pass 100 in a career. Earlier this season, she became just the third player in program history to surpass 3,000 career assists. Schultz is also just 23 sets away from becoming the school's all-time leader in sets played.
Amanda Baker: Looking to become one of the best middle blockers in Oakland history as she is 15 total blocks and three block assists from the all-time records.
Melissa Deatsch: Surpassed teammate Ciara Schultz for the school's all-time record in services aces with 109. She also became just the second player in team history to rank in the top-10 in both kills and digs.
Cassie Pelloni: Needs just 54 kills to become the fourth player in program history to join the 1,000 kills club at Oakland.
Jessica Dood: Moved into eighth place in both block and block assists in Oakland history, while ranking sixth in hitting efficiency and cracking the top-10 in career kills.

2014 SEASON RECAP
The Golden Grizzlies had its most successful season in the Division I era in 2014 as they won their first regular season and tournament league titles and went on to make their first NCAA Tournament appearance. Oakland set six single-season team records for kills, attack percentage, assists, service aces, block assists and team blocks.

ALL-LEAGUE PERFORMERS
Oakland returns a pair of All-Horizon League selections, both named to this season's preseason all-league team, in Sammy Condon and Cassie Pelloni. Condon was named to the all-league team and also became just the second freshman in Horizon League history to win Tournament MVP honors. Pelloni returns for her senior campaign after leading the team in kills per set a year ago. The Golden Grizzlies also return all-tournament team honorees Ciara Schultz and Jessica Dood. Schultz set the school record for assists in a season at 1,244 and Dood averaged 2.58 kills per set in 2014.

THE BEAM FILE
Head Coach Rob Beam returns for his ninth season at the helm of the Golden Grizzlies and is the defending Horizon League Coach of the Year. He guided Oakland to its first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance in 2014 while winning more than 20 games in a season for the first time since 1997. Beam has coached two Defensive Players of the Year and 12 all-league selections under his tenure.

Oakland continues a four-match road trip next week as it heads to Wisconsin to face Milwaukee and Green Bay on Tuesday and Wednesday.
