COLUMBIA, Mo. -​ Redshirt freshman Sammy Condon crushed 14 kills and added four blocks as the Oakland volleyball team (3-5) defeated Missouri 25-19, 23-25, 25-19, 25-11 Saturday evening in the final game for the Golden Grizzlies at the Tiger Invitational.

Condon earned all-tournament team accolades for her efforts on the weekend, which included hitting .411 over four games and finishing with 12 blocks.

Missouri (3-3), the 2013 SEC tournament champion and preseason top 15 team by AVCA, was held to a .167 attack percentage by the Golden Grizzlies.

"This was a great day for our program," Oakland head coach Rob Beam said. "We closed out the tournament with a huge win for our program over Missouri, and we competed well against a multiple-time NCAA Tournament participant Lipscomb this morning. We will certainly enjoy this win and get back to work on Monday."

Oakland hid a stellar .331 for the four-set match, as Cassie Pelloni (12) and Jessica Dood (10) each were in double figures in kills against Missouri. Ciara Schultz had a double-double with 43 assists and 12 digs, while Taylor Humm added 15 digs for the Golden Grizzlies. Oakland had 11 service aces to Missouri's two.

Sammy Condon led Oakland with 12 kills against Lipscomb (4-1) Saturday morning in the Golden Grizzlies' 25-20, 25-18, 25-18 setback to the Lady Bisons.

Amanda Baker hit .429 with seven kills. Ciara Schultz had 30 assists while Taylor Hum led the Golden Grizzlies with 14 digs.

Lipscomb, who upset No. 22 Kansas earlier this season and was receiving votes in the most recent AVCA poll, had a .309 hitting percentage against Oakland.

Oakland returns to action Sept. 13-14 at the Black Knights Invitational, hosted by Army.
