ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Oakland women's basketball team will host Chicago State (11/23), Miami (OH) (11/28) and Indiana (12/20), while traveling to Miami (FL) (11/14), Michigan State (11/26) and Central Michigan (12/28) in the non-conference portion of the 2014-15 schedule, announced head coach Jeff Tungate on Wednesday.
"I'm really excited about this year's non-conference schedule," said Tungate. "This should really prepare us for Horizon League play. With four Power 5 Schools, it will provide us a great opportunity to showcase our program nationally. I know our fans will also look forward to the Indiana game in the O'rena. We have a great balance of high major, mid major and local schools on the schedule."
The Golden Grizzlies will open up the season with a two-game set in the state of Florida as they face Miami and Central Florida (11/17). The non-conference road schedule will also include Ball State (12/6), Texas-Corpus Christi (12/17), IPFW (12/22) and Dartmouth (1/2).
Oakland's home schedule will begin with Chicago State and continue with Rochester College (12/3) and Concordia (12/15). Over the entire non-conference schedule, the Golden Grizzlies will face six teams that made a postseason tournament appearance last season, including four teams in the WNIT and a Spartan squad that reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
