ROCHESTER, Mich. - Paced by a 12-kill effort by redshirt freshman Sammy Condon, the Gold team defeated the Black team 2-1 Saturday in the Oakland volleyball team's annual black and gold scrimmage at the O'Rena. Gold won 25-19, 24-26, 25-17 in the three-set event.

"It was exciting for us to put on the Oakland jersey today and compete in front of our supporters," Oakland head coach Rob Beam said. "We have some learning to do, and this is just a checkpoint for us. But I love our offense right now. We have depth at every offensive position, and we really showcased that tonight."

Condon fired an impressive .409 hitting percentage with 12 kills, while fellow Gold team member Cassie Pelloni added 11 kills. Ciara Schultz dished out 36 assists, while Taylor Humm led the Gold squad with 11 digs.

For the Black squad, Darien Bandel had a team-best nine kills, followed by an eight-kill performance by Breann Reveley. Jessica Dood had a double-double with 14 assists and 13 digs, while Alli Gutschow added 15 digs. The Black team out-blocked the Gold side 10-0.
