Final Results | Geoffrey Williston and Buddy Becker accomplished standout performances at Oakland's last regular-season event of 2014 at the Toledo Invitational. Williston ran a 1:54.20 in the 800-meter run for a second-place finish while Becker threw for a distance of 141 feet, 3 inches in the discus.
"The team put in a great effort today to end the main part of our season," said head coach Paul Rice. "We saw personal bests in several events from Geoff (Williston) and Buddy (Becker). This team has had a great year with many accomplishments that we can build on moving into next season. In the meantime, we have a few athletes that are going to give it one more shot next week as we travel to Louisville with Chris (Scott), C.J. (Gozdor) and Serena (San Cartier). We are hoping to his some NCAA prelim qualifying marks next week."
Additional notables for Oakland included the new season-best 400m time accomplished by Chris Scott when he finished in 50.55 for sixth place. The men's 4x100 relay finished in second with a time of 42.96, which is another season-best for OU.
On the women's side, Serena San Cartier took third overall in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:03.37. Candice Mack competed in the 200m dash and finished in sixth place with a time of 25.46.
