Oakland completed its first-ever season inside the Horizon League with a 7-9 record and finished in a tie for fifth place. The Golden Grizzlies earned the No. 6 seed and hosted the opening round of the Horizon League tournament, winning a thrilling overtime game against Youngstown State, 96-92, inside the Athletics Center O'rena.

The Grizzlies played one of the toughest non-conference schedules in the country, finishing as the third-toughest by ESPN.com. A total of 16 teams that Oakland faced made the NCAA postseason, seven in the NCAA tournament and two (Michigan State, UCLA) made the Sweet Sixteen.

2013-14 HIGHLIGHTS

  • Senior guard Travis Bader broke J.J. Redick's NCAA record of 457 3-pointers made at Milwaukee (2/2), going 6-for-11 from behind the arc - Record-Breaking 3
  • Bader finished with an NCAA record 504 3-pointers
  • Bader broke the single-season school record with 147 threes, 2nd-most in Horizon League history; He also broke the OU single-season free throw percentage (.943) record and finished 2nd in the country
  • Oakland finished 10-5 inside the O'rena, eclipsing the 10-win mark for the eighth consecutive year
  • With their win over Youngstown State in the Horizon League tournament, the Golden Grizzlies improved their postseason record to 5-0 at home
  • Bader broke the league tournament record by going 18-for-18 from the free-throw line, including 2 with 0.6 on the game clock to send the game into OT - 1.3 Million Views
  • The Golden Grizzlies earned Horizon League sweeps over Detroit and UIC - UDM Valentine's Day Highlights
  • Senior Duke Mondy broke the Horizon League record with 3.10 steals per game, 2nd-best in the country
  • Mondy set the all-time school record with 3.06 steals per game
  • Freshman Kahlil Felder dished out a Horizon League and Oakland record 212 assists, finishing 7th in the NCAA with 6.4 per game
  • Felder recorded the first-ever triple-double in OU history with 15 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds vs. Detroit (2/14)
  • Junior Corey Petros led the Horizon League in rebounds (8.2 per game) and double-doubles (9)
  • Mondy tallied game-winning shots against UIC (1/25) and Detroit (2/14); His buzzer-beater against the Flames was No. 4 on #SCtop10 - Buzzer-Beating Shot
  • Oakland set a new O'rena attendance record as 4,065 fans watched the Grizzlies defeat the UDM Titans on Valentine's Day
  • Bader competed in the Quicken Loans 3-point Championship, finishing runner-up at the Final Four
