DETROIT, Mich. - Karine Celis was victorious in a third-set tiebreaker Saturday afternoon at No. 2 singles with a 6-3, 2-6, 10-8 win in Oakland's 6-1 setback to Detroit at the Titan Tennis Courts in the final match of the season for the Golden Grizzlies.

Celis took the early lead in her singles match, and after giving up the second set, rebounded with a tenacious performance to win 10-8 in the super tiebreaker.

Detroit started the day with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to take the first point of the match.

In singles, Oakland forced a second-set tiebreaker twice with hopes of extending matches, but the Golden Grizzlies came up just short. Cam Sabourin battled tough at No. 1 singles before falling 6-1, 7-6 (7-3) while Rebecca Phyle stepped in at No. 6 singles and played tough in a 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) setback.

Oakland finished the regular season with a 6-14 record, including a 2-6 mark against Horizon League foes. Detroit improved to 10-7, 5-3 with the win.
