NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Ian Yetsko and Robby Enslen each drove in a run as the Oakland baseball (4-8) dropped the final game of a four-game series to Lipscomb (9-8), 7-2, Sunday afternoon at Ken Dugan Field.
"This was a tough weekend," said head coach John Musachio. "Lipscomb beat us in every phase of the game. I give them a lot of credit. We will focus our energy on fundamentals at practice all week, that I can tell you."
Oakland jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning as Enslen drove in Trent Pell with a sacrifice fly to right field. Later, Trent Drumheller would score as Yetsko bounced into a fielder's choice to shortstop.
Lipscomb would respond with four runs in the third inning as the Bison hit four doubles including three straight to drive in runs. LU would add three more runs with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning with back-to-back RBI triples.
Tyler Palm suffered the loss (0-1) throwing 3.0 innings, giving up four earned runs on five hits and struck out three batters. LU's Denton Norman earned his second win of the season giving up two runs in 6.0 innings on four hits and struck out two.
The Golden Grizzlies scored two runs on six hits and committed no errors. The Bison scored seven runs on 12 hits and had one error.
Oakland is scheduled to host its home and league opener on Friday against Youngstown State to begin a three-game series at the OU Baseball Field starting at 3 p.m.
