ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Golden Grizzlies will continue the spring season at the annual Jackrabbit Invitational, Monday and Tuesday, at Primm Valley Golf Club on the Lakes Course. Oakland will be going against 15 other teams in the 54-hole tournament.
KOMMA SHINES IN SENIOR SEASON
Oakland fans knew Kassandra Komma was going to have a career-best senior season. The Niddatal Hessen, Germany recorded three holes-in-one this summer within a month, including two during the same 9 holes at the R&S Sharf Golf Course on the campus of Oakland University. After posting a scoring average of 79.00 in the fall, Komma began the spring with a 54-hole school record scoring mark of 221 (+5) at the Central District Invitational (Feb. 17-18), including an even-par score of 72 in her final round.
Five of her last six rounds have been 75 or better, and she has a stroke average of 74.60. Komma stands second inside the Horizon League with her overall average of 77.63, behind Detroit's Lindsey Lammers (75.82).
SOPHOMORE RISING
Haylee Zyber is off to a strong start to the spring season. She finished the fall with a scoring average of 80.67, but has improved that to 79.00 in two tournaments thus spring. The Swartz Creek, Mich., native carded a career-best 54-hole score of 234 (+18) at the Central District Invite. Zyber shot a career-low 72 (E) in Round 1 of that tournament and 3 of 5 rounds this spring have been in the 70s.
OAKLAND FACES TOUGH FIELD
The Golden Grizzlies faced their toughest field in program history at the Central District Invitational. Six of the 14 teams rank inside the top 50 of GolfStat.com rankings, including No. 14 Vanderbilt, No. 17 UCF and No. 23 Michigan State.
The Golden Grizzlies were able to post a season-best score of 933 (+69) at the tournament, the fourth-best score in program history.

Oakland is scheduled to compete in the IPFW Spring Classic, April 6-7, at Pine Valley Country Club.
ON THE HORIZON
The Golden Grizzlies will compete in their first-ever Horizon League Championship, April 25-27, in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. at the Mission Inn Resort. Oakland holds the top GolfStat.com ranking at 190, just two spots ahead of Detroit.
