YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Serena San Cartier clocked the Horizon League's top time in the 60-meter high hurdles (8.75) and the men's 4x400m relay team of Chris Scott, Zach Joyce, Glen Scott and Tré Brown broke the indoor school record with a time of 3:20.36 to lead the Oakland track and field teams on the final day of the YSU Invitational on Saturday.

"We came into this weekend hoping to keep building on the hard work that is being put in," said head coach Paul Rice. "We did just that. The men's mile was one of the big highlights with two freshmen going 4:14 and breaking the freshman record. Serena ran another great hurdle race, improving on her league-leading time. Both men's and women's relay teams ran great with the men's relay setting another school record. We will keep working hard this week as we prep for GVSU and build towards the Horizon League Championships."

Jacob Bowman tallied a fifth-place finish in the men's mile with a personal-best time of 4:14.24, setting a new freshman indoor record. Bryce Stroede was right behind him with a time of 4:14.46, also setting a personal-record time and finishing in sixth place for the Golden Grizzlies.

In the women's 3,000 meters, Sammy Mondry recorded a career-best time of 10:13.98, which currently stands third in the league. The 4x400m relay team of San Cartier, Sarah Moen, Elizabeth Girardot and Candice Mack crossed the finish line in fifth place with a season-best time of 3:59.82.

Jeff Arirguzo and Aaron Davis led the Grizzlies in the men's 200-meter dash. Arirguzo posted a third-place finish with a time of 21.99, while Davis tallied a personal-best time of 22.17 to finish in fifth place.

Oakland will compete in its final indoor meet before the league championships at the GVSU Big Meet on Feb. 14-15.
