Hayes Game-by-Game Last Week 
INDIANAPOLIS - Oakland's Jalen Hayes has been named Horizon League Freshman of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday. Hayes, a native of Lansing, Mich., earns the honor for the second straight week.
The Golden Grizzlies began the week at Clemson in a tough 70-60 loss Monday night. Hayes tallied five points and five rebounds, posting a career-best four steals. At No. 15 Maryland last Saturday, Hayes added 13 points and seven boards in a 72-56 loss to the Terps.
Hayes averaged 9.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game for the week. He became the sixth player to lead Oakland in scoring and has reached double figures in two of his last three contests.
The Golden Grizzlies will open up Horizon League play this Friday night against Valparaiso. Game time is set for 7 p.m. inside the O'rena and it can be watched on TV20, Comcast 900 and heard on WDFN-AM (1130).
