Dec. 23, 2013

ROCHESTER, Mic. - Travis Bader has been named Oakland's Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Dec. 16-23. Bader was also named co-athlete of the week by the Horizon League, marking the first-ever honor of this caliber for Oakland in the new conference.

Bader moved into sixth place all-time in NCAA history with 422 3-pointers, thanks to a 21-for-36 effort last week in three games. He drained 17 triples over the weekend versus Eastern Michigan and Robert Morris, scoring a season-high 33 in an overtime loss to the Eagles. Bader's 10 3-pointers on Saturday was tied for the second-most in program history for a single game, and tied for third in Horizon League history.

On Monday, Bader recorded his first-ever double-double versus Illinois State, tallying 21 points and a career-high 11 rebounds. He averaged 26.0 points and 7.0 3-pointers per game, while shooting 58.3 percent from behind the arc. He currently leads the country with 65 triples this season.

The Golden Grizzlies are back in action this Friday as they host Defiance College at 7 p.m. in the Athletics Center O'rena.
