ROCHESTER, Mich. - Femi Olujobi (6-8, 220) and Collin Weaver (6-3, 180) have signed a National Letter of Intent to play their collegiate basketball at Oakland, announced head coach Greg Kampe on Friday.
"We are excited about these two young men we signed," said Kampe. "The move to the Horizon League allowed us to get out and get into cities we have not been in before."
Olujobi, a native of Brentwood, N.Y., is a senior at Brentwood High School. He averaged 19 points and 13 rebounds per game during the regular season and stepped that up to 25 points and 15 boards per game in the state playoffs. Oluboji garnered All-Long Island second team accolades after his junior season and is a preseason All-Long Island selection by LongIslandBasketball.com.
"Femi is long and athletic that will bring some bounce and a high-flying act," said Kampe. "He can score with his back to the basket, but what we really like, is he can also step out and make some jump shots too. He didn't have much of a summer because he broke his Tibia late spring and had to miss all of summer ball."
Weaver attended North Pointe Preparatory High School in Phoenix, Ariz., averaging 20.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game as a senior. He was tabbed section player of the year as he guided his team to a regional championship. Weaver went on to break the region scoring record with over 1,400 points and was selected to play in the Senior All-Star Game.
"Collin is a young man who can really shoot the basketball," said Kampe. "He is a guy who can really score and has great belief in himself."
