OAKLAND KICKS OFF BUSY WEEK WITH BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MATCH

ROCHESTER, Mich. - Oakland volleyball (8-11, 2-3 HL) gears up for a mid-week non-conference contest with Bowling Green (8-9, 5-1) on Tuesday, Oct. 15 in the Athletics Center O'rena at 7 p.m. Fans are reminded that this match is the OU volleyball annual Breast Cancer Awareness game and to wear pink in support of this great cause.

"We're partnering with the American Cancer Society and we encourage our fans to come out and make any kind of donation they can to a worthy cause," commented head coach, Rob Beam. "We want you wearing pink and supporting our team in this effort. It's going to be a great match. We have a great across-the-border rivalry with Bowling Green and it's our turn!"

• Oakland is coming off a 3-0 road win against Wright State on Friday.
• Cassie Pelloni has strung together four matches in which she has recorded double-digit kills.
• Pelloni leads OU with 204 kills, averaging 2.91 kills per set for a .218 hitting efficiency overall.
• Last match, Melissa Deatsch recorded four service aces of the team's total five.
• Ciara Schultz leads the team with 385 assists in just her sophomore year of competition, averaging 5.35 per set and senior, Alissa Valentine provides 4.52 assists per set.
• The Grizzlies are 3-11 historically against the Falcons with the most recent meeting happening last season. The match ended in a 3-2 loss for Oakland.
• Bowling Green enters the competition with a record of 8-9, 5-1 in the MAC.
