GRAMBLING, La. - Travis Bader scored a game-high 17 points and Corey Petros added a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds as Oakland (1-2) cruised to a 30-point win over Grambling State (0-4), 75-45, on Saturday inside Fred C. Hobdy Arena.
"I thought we started slow, but picked it up in the second half," said OU coach Greg Kampe. "We challenged them to get four straight stops in the second half and we came up with three. Corey (Petros) had another great game and is averaging over 10 rebounds a game through his first three."
Reggie Hamilton also reached double figures for the Golden Grizzlies with 12 points. Drew Valentine grabbed 10 rebounds to go with eight points for the Grizzlies. OU trailed early but seized control over the final 11 minutes by outscoring the Tigers 26-10 and taking a 33-19 lead and never looked back.
OU will face Houston (3-0) in its fourth consecutive road game at 8:30 p.m. ET inside Hofheinz Pavilion. The game will air on WDFN-AM (1130) with Mario Impemba (play-by-play) and Scott MacDonald (color).
