ROCHESTER, Mich. - Senior Brett Geschke went 2-for-3 as the Oakland University baseball team (0-6 Summit, 5-22) fell 13-3 to South Dakota State (6-0 Summit, 20-9) Saturday afternoon at the OU Baseball Field.
In the first inning, sophomore Tim Ryan singled, stole second and moved to third on a ground out. Junior Tommy Jablonski grounded out to push Ryan across the plate.
South Dakota State used seven hits and an error to score eight runs in the top of the second. The Jackrabbits would add three more in the third.
In the bottom of the third inning, senior Brett Geschke singled to the right side, moved to second on a wild pitch and advanced to third on a ground out. Sophomore John Estes grounded out to score Geshcke.
Junior Aaron Wick opened up the fifth with a single to center field. He stole second and moved to third on a pass ball. Geschke singled through the left side to score Wick.
Freshman Russell Luxton (0-2) gave up 11 hits, 11 runs and walked one in two and 2/3rd innings of work. Junior Jake Arendsen and freshman Hayden Fox combined to give up three hits, two runs, walk one and strike out two batters in four and 1/3rd innings of relief work.
For Oral Roberts, Billy Stitz went 3-for-5 and drove in four runs while Beau Hanowski and John Lee had two hits and scored two runs each. Blake Treinen (3-0) gave up six hits, three runs, two of them earned, walked two and struck out five batters in six innings.
