It was the fourth straight win over the Golden Eagles and moved the Golden Grizzlies into fourth place in The Summit League.

"I'm very proud of the team tonight," said head coach Rob Beam. "We showed great resilience in winning the fourth set. After the break, ORU came out firing. It took a great team effort to get the win."

In the first set, the teams battled on even terms early on. Tied at 9-9, Oakland went on a 5-1 run to lead 14-10. Oral Roberts got a kill from Elizabeth McVicker to make it 14-11.

The Golden Grizzlies got two kills from sophomore Meghan Bray and an error from ORU to make it 17-11. The Golden Eagles could get no closer than five points with OU closing it on a kill from Bray.

The second set followed the same trend as the first. The teams went back and forth until 10-10 was showing on the scoreboard. Oakland made an attempt to pull away with a 5-2 run to lead 15-12.

Oral Roberts then came storming back with four straight points to take the lead 16-15. The score went back and forth until it was 21-21. Lange blasted the ball down the left sideline, ORU hit the net and junior Ashley Nevelle dumped the ball over the net.

That made it 24-21, Oakland. The Golden Eagles came up with a block assist and a kill by Tatum Fredeen. Nevelle and Bell then stuffed Serena Cate to win 25-23 and go up 2-0.

The third set looked to be following in the same format. The teams traded points with freshman Audrey Wilson getting a kill to make it 8-7, Oakland. ORU then scored nine straight points to effectively end the set. The Golden Eagles finished the set with an 18-6 run.

In the fourth set, once again neither team was able to establish a rhythm early. Tied at 10-10, Oral Roberts grinded out a 9-5 stretch to make it 19-15. Oakland came back with six straight points, closing on a kill by Nevelle to lead 21-19.

It was a battle of the two's after that. The Golden Eagles scored two straight to tie it at 21-21. OU scored twice to lead 23-21 before ORU scored twice to make it 23-23. Wilson then smashed the ball off a shoulder in the back corner. The Golden Eagles then rushed a hitting attempt causing it to hit the net and finish the match.

Nevelle had 31 assists and 11 digs while senior Brittany Dunn had 15 digs, her 21st straight double-digit match. She now has 1,341 career digs, 14th best in league history.
