Oakland Wins 3-2 Thriller Over North Texas

ROCHESTER, Mich. - Senior Adrienne Leone notched 16 kills, freshman Meghan Bray added 14 kills, and sophomore Ashley Nevelle dished out 39 assists as the Oakland University volleyball team (4-1) rallied to claim a 4-1 win over North Texas on Sunday on the second day of the Golden Grizzly Invitational.

The Golden Grizzlies won the opening two sets 25-21 and 25-19 before the Mean Green rallied to take 25-18 and 25-17 victories in the third and fourth sets. However, Oakland rallied from a 10-8 deficit in the final game, scoring five consecutive points to take a 13-10 lead, and close the set with a 15-12 victory.

Junior Brittany Dunn turned in a 20-dig performance, while Bray, Leone, and freshman Alli Kirk all turned in 11-dig efforts.

The Golden Grizzlies will conclude play at the Golden Grizzly Invitational with a 6 p.m. match today against Canisius.
