The win gives head coach Glenn MacDonald 69 in his fourth season, making him the all-time winningest coach in OU softball history. He surpasses Steve Ogg's 68 wins from 2000-02.

Sophomore Marisa Everitt (2-1) got the start in game one, throwing 5.0 innings, scattering three hits, three runs, three earned runs and struck out seven. Freshman Brittany Doyle (0-2) tossed a complete game, allowing six hits, six earned runs and fanned five.

In game one, OU took a quick 3-0 lead in the first inning on a two-run homer by DiCristofaro and RBI single by senior left fielder Roberta Ches. The Fleet tied the score in the bottom of the fourth inning with three runs as Katee Knapp smacked a two-run home run to lead the charge as the game advanced to the fifth inning tied at 3-3.

The Golden Grizzlies regained the lead in the top of the fifth inning with two runs as Deacon singled, stole second and scored on a single by junior second baseman Julie Owen. Owen went to third on an error and scored on a passed ball as Oakland retook the lead 5-3.

The Grizzlies scored another run in the sixth inning courtesy of a RBI double by Dreyer as the lead grew to three runs. The Fleet threatened in the bottom half of the inning as the leadoff batter was hit-by-a-pitch, but Granger slammed the door shut with three quick outs on two strikeouts.

Oakland scored six runs, on nine hits and had no errors, while Erskine had three runs, three hits and two errors.

The Golden Grizzlies will play in the EKU Invitational this weekend, Feb. 28-March 1. OU will face Indiana State (3-2) at 10 a.m. and Cleveland State (4-5) at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
