ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Senior Pat Downing, sophomore Tim Montague and freshmen Jordan Moses and Matt Sytsma won the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:14.14) as the Oakland University men's (2-2) swimming and diving teams lost 168-101 to the University of Michigan at the Canham Natatorium on Friday night.
It was the first meeting between the two schools since the 1991-92 season.
Senior Eddie Toro had a solid meet with runner-up performances in the 200 individual medley (1:57.93) and the 200 butterfly (1:56.97). Freshman David Craycraft scored a career-high of 244.88 points to place second on the one-meter springboard. He also recorded a career-high of 243.15 to place third on the three-meter springboard.
The Golden Grizzlies also received runner-up performances from freshman Alex Aceino in the 100 fly (50.63), Montague in the 500 free (4:43.45), Moses in the 100 free (48.36), sophomore Joe Rodgers in the 200 breaststroke (2:09.45) and senior Mike Templeton in 200 backstroke (1:52.03).
OU is off until Dec. 3-5 when they travel to Oxford, Ohio to compete in the Miami Invitational. The meet is scheduled to run all day on all three days.
