ROCHESTER, Mich. - After shattering the school record in the pentathlon at the Grand Valley State University Laker Early Bird meet, freshman Breanna Peabody was named Summit League Athlete of the Week, as announced by the league office Tuesday.

The Utica, Mich. native powered her way to 3,223-point first place finish in the event out of 10 competitors, which broke the Oakland record by more than 200 points.

Peabody, and the rest of the Oakland University women's indoor track and field team, will next compete in the Bowling Green State University Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 17
