BOWLING GREEN, Ohio ???C Junior Frank McAuliffe rallied on the final day with a 76, and sophomore Robby McNiff, who led the tournament with 12 birdies in three rounds, finished with the only other sub-80 round with a 77, to lead the Oakland University men???s golf team on the final day of the John Piper Intercollegiate on Tuesday. Ohio University won the tournament hosted by Bowling Green with an overall score of 876 (+12), while the Golden Grizzlies finished 12th with a final score of 928 (+64).

???I???m obviously disappointed on the way we played today,??? said OU coach Brian Costello. ???However it is the first tournament of the season and I expect more from these young players as we go forward.???

Sophomores Vince Carango and Michael Marks each added a score of 81, while freshman Michael Coriasso fired an 83 to close out play for the Grizzlies.

Oakland will be in action again next Sunday for the Michigan State Invitational in Traverse City. It will be a one day 36-hole tournament at the Kingsley Club.
