The sophomore catcher led the Grizzlies to a 7-3 record last week. ROCHESTER, Mich. ???C Oakland University???s Angela Righetti earned The Summit League Softball Player of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday. Righetti, a sophomore catcher from East Tawas, Mich., led the Golden Grizzlies to a 7-3 record last week.

???Angela really came on strong at the end of last year and she has continued that so far this season,??? said head coach Glenn MacDonald. ???We could not have won seven games without her offensive efforts last week.???

Righetti led the Grizzlies with a .519 batting average and a .706 slugging percentage over the 10 games. She had four doubles, one triple, and drove in five runs. Righetti also walked twice for OU, and posted a .533 on-base percentage. She tallied a seven-game hitting streak during the week, and threw out three base stealers in 12 attempts.

The Golden Grizzlies will return to the Diamond at Morehead State this Friday. The doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. OU will then participate in the Morehead State Tournament on Saturday and Sunday.
