VALPARAISO, Ind. - Despite wins at the top three singles spots by juniors Lindsay Grimmer, Amanda Scheer, and Michelle Maxfield, the Oakland University women's tennis team (2-7) was unable to overcome a doubles sweep by Valparaiso, as OU dropped a 4-3 decision on Saturday at the Valparaiso Tennis Complex. Grimmer picked up a 6-3, 5-7, 6-2 victory at No. 1 singles over Valparaiso's Kim Sajevic, while Sheer took a 6-4, 6-1 victory at No. 2 singles over Jenny Schwartz, and Maxfield picked up a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles over Molly Keifer. The Golden Grizzlies dropped all three doubles matches by 8-6 scores, while losing a three-set match at No. 6 singles as Christine Antrobus defeated Rebecca Hopkins. OU will return to action on Friday, April 4, facing UMKC and Southern Utah in matches to be held in Indianapolis, Ind. The day's action begins at 9 a.m. -30-
