Head Coach Beckie Francis
On the team's recovering from the Southern Utah loss
"I'm really pleased that they came back from a very tough loss. They responded. UMKC made a run at us and we stopped it, and we were able to just get the job done. It was defense and rebounding when we needed it."
On opening the second half on a 13-0 run
"We really focus on the first ten possessions each half. I felt that we dominated both times. If you look at it, that was the difference in the game."
On the team's stellar free-throw shooting and Jessica Pike's performance
"I was really pleased with Pike's composure. She had a 5-2 assist-turnover ratio, and she wanted the ball when they were starting to foul. She's a smart player and a focused shooter and I'm pleased that our players are smart enough to keep getting the ball when they were pressing."
On Melissa Jeltema's overall performance
"She was (very cold) early on. I think she was 1-for-6 in the first half. What I like about her is she keeps her head. She doesn't get flustered. She's a fantastic rebounder and I'm really proud, she was big-time tonight."
On Hanna Reising's performance
"It was the game we needed from her on the night we needed it."
On the impact that Brittany Carnago has on the defensive end
"(Carnago) is definitely a presence on defense with her shotblocking ability and her rebounding. I know I don't like going against a shotblocking team, and when she's in the paint I hope it's intimidating."
