Keith Benson was named OU Student-Athlete of the Week after leading Oakland to a 1-1 record last week. Benson, a native of Farmington Hills, Mich., averaged 15.0 points per game, 5.5 rebounds per game, 1.0 steals per game and shot 80 percent from the free throw line (12-15).

Kito began the week with 10 points at Eastern Michigan last Monday night as the Golden Grizzlies defeated the Eagles 66-53. Against the 11th-ranked Spartans, Benson scored a game-high 20 points and went a career-best 8-for-9 from the charity stripe, grabbing a team-high five rebounds.
