ROCHESTER, Mich. ???C Sophomore Agnes Solan won the 100- and 200-yard backstroke events with times of 57.20 and 2:03.42, respectively, to lead the Oakland University women???s swimming and diving team in a tri-meet versus Illinois and Toledo on Friday in the Recreation and Athletics Center (RAC). The Golden Grizzlies fell to the Fighting Illini, 194-104, and dropped a 209-91 decision to the Rockets.

Junior captain Sophia Gustafsson clocked a time of 10:21.09 in the 1000 freestyle to finish second for the Grizzlies. She tallied a pair of third-place finishes in the 200 butterfly and 500 free with times of 2:08.40 and 5:02.97.

Solan added a runner-up finish for OU in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:06.60. Freshman Emily Wike posted a time of 1:07.21 in the 100 breaststroke to finish in third place for the Golden Grizzlies.

Oakland will travel to Akron, Ohio, to face the University of Akron in a dual meet next Friday, Oct. 26. The meet is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
