Final Results Indianapolis, Ind. (April 25, 2006) ???C With a team score of 929, the Oakland women???s golf team finished as the runner-up at the Mid-Con Championship, firing a 315 on the last day for the second-lowest total of the final round. Four Golden Grizzlies finished in the top 10, led by
Jenna Goulet???s (Forest, Ontario) fourth-place finish. Oral Roberts claimed the title, finishing with a team total of 902 over the three rounds. Western Illinois placed third with a score of 947, followed by UMKC???s tally of 956. Centenary (977) and IUPUI (1024) rounded out the team competition. Posting a 78 in the final round, Goulet finished first among Oakland golfers and fourth overall with a three-round score of 226, 10 over par. It???s just the second time this season the sophomore has led the Golden Grizzlies, recording her career-best performance when it counted most.
Christina Cibrario (Milford, Mich.) and
Patricia Ellsworth (Leamington, Ontario) matched each other for the best performance by an Oakland golfer on the second day of competition, each firing a 77 in the final round. Finishing with a total of 232, Cibrario parlayed her strong final round into a seventh-place finish. Four shots back, Ellsworth finished in a tie for 10th at 236. Tallying a 235 in the three rounds,
Stacy Goins (Rochester Hills, Mich.) placed seventh at the Championship, shooting an 83 in the final round.
Erica Novak (Westland, Mich.) was the final Golden Grizzly to compete at the Mid-Con, placing 28th with a three-round total of 274.
