Zoltan Horvath (Balatonalmadi, Hungary) was named Mid-Con???s swimming and diving Athlete of the Week. He was rewarded with the honor after winning both the 200-yard individual medley and 200-yard breaststroke in this weekend???s dual meet against Pittsburgh. His first win of the meet came in the 200 IM, out-touching his opponent by less than a tenth of a second to win the event with a time of 1:54.96. The time was 34 hundredths of second slower than Horvath???s own conference fast time. Wrapping up the individual events in Friday???s meet, Horvath once again touched the wall ahead of all his opponents, stopping the watch in 2:04.27 in the 200 breaststroke to take the win. The time set a new mark for the fastest time in the Mid-Con this season. He also helped the Golden Grizzlies take second in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:33.54. Both the men???s and women???s swimming and diving squads will take a few weeks off before returning to the pool competitively for the Miami University Invitational on Dec. 1-3 in Oxford, Ohio.
