Louisville, Ky. (Mar. 31, 2004) ???C Oakland???s women???s golf team kept up its strong spring showing yesterday, notching a second place finish at the Bellarmine Invitational out of nine teams, finishing with a 344 at the rain-shortened event at the Persimmon Ridge Golf Club. It was the third top-five finish of OU this spring in three tries. Oakland???s top finisher was Stacey Goins (Rochester Hills, Mich.) and Patricia Ellsworth (Leamington, Ont.) who each finished with 84s to 7th overall. Oakland???s three other golfers; Mara Mazzoni (Livonia, Mich.), Leigh Gulbransen (Tecumseh, Ont.) and Christina Cibrario (Milford, Mich.) all came in with 88s to tie for 13th for the Golden Grizzlies. Next up for Oakland will be an appearance at the Cleveland State Invitational in Avon, Ohio on Apr. 2 and 3.
