The Oakland University women's basketball team fell to the visiting Eagles 74-53. The Golden Grizzlies move to 2-5 overall while Boston College improves to 5-2. OU struck first as senior
Sarah Judd (Eastpointe/Harper Woods Regina) hit a layup ten seconds into the game. The Golden Grizzlies last lead came five minutes into the first half (11-9) as Boston College took control and never let up. Oakland hung on through the first half as they entered the lockerroom down by 15 points (23-38).
Katie Wolfe (Cedar Springs/Cedar Springs) led the offensive effort with 15 points, four assists, two boards and one steal.
Romica Clint (Toledo/Scott) followed with 13 points and three rebounds. Judd rounded out the double figure scoring with 12 points, two rebounds and one steal.
Amanda Batcha (Waterford/Kettering) led OU on the boards with six. Boston College dominated the glass with 37 rebounds compared to Oakland's 25. OU shot 35 percent from the field while the Eagles shot 54 percent. The Grizzlies shot a positive 90 percent from the charity stripe. The Golden Grizzlies will be in action again on Saturday December 15 as OU hosts Dartmouth. Game time is 2 p.m.
