The Oakland University women's golf team stands in a tie for seventh place after the first 18 holes at the Eastern Kentucky University Fall Invitational in Richmond, Kentucky Friday, October 12. The EKU Fall Invite is being played in the Arlington Golf Course, a par 72, 6,193-yard course. Butler University holds the team lead with its first round 322. Oakland is tied with Bowling Green for seventh after shooting 336 in the first 18 holes. Leading the way for the Golden Grizzlies and for the individual title is senior
Connie Apalit who shot a three-over par 75. Junior
Emily Minnich followed in 30th place after shooting 85, while freshman
Mara Mazzoni recorded an 87 for a tie for 44th place. Jennifer Quinn and Tera Van Tiem rounded off OU's top five in 56th and 79th places respectively. Quinn shot an 89, while Van Tiem recorded a 96. OU's Kathy Goodvich is also playing in the EKU Fall Invite as an individual and shot an 105 in the first round. The Golden Grizzlies will play the final round of the invitational Saturday morning, October 13.
