The Oakland University men's basketball team won its second straight game Saturday evening as they downed Chicago State 71-56 in Chicago, Illinois. The win increases OU's Mid-Continent Conference win streak to eight games. Oakland's record climbs to 3-3 overall and 2-0 in the Mid-Con. CSU falls to 1-3 overall and 0-1 in conference action. Jason Rozycki (Boyne City/Boyne City HS) who nailed four treys for the Golden Grizzlies in first half of action. Rozycki went on to record 25 points on the night to lead the Golden Grizzlies in the victory. Junior
Brad Buddenborg (Garden city/Garden City HS) followed with 14 points, five boards, and two assists. Junior
Mychal Covington (Pontiac/Pontiac Northern HS) ran a smooth offense while scoring 11 points, dishing out five assists and grabbing seven boards. Junior
Dan Champagne (Linden/Linden HS) finished off the double figure scoring with 10 points, four rebounds, and two assists.
Kelly Williams (Detroit/Martin Luther King HS) helped OU on the defensive side as he grabbed a team-high eight boards. The Golden Grizzlies will now sit on top of the Mid-Continent Conference for at least a month as they wait to face their next Mid-Con opponent Oral Roberts on January 5. Oakland will return next play at crosstown opponent Detroit Tuesday, December 5. Game time is 7:35 p.m. and will be televised on Fox Sports Detroit.
