Oakland Aquatic Center
Opened in 1998, the Oakland Aquatic Center is recognized as one of the premier natatoriums in the region. Home to Oakland University’s swimming and diving teams, the facility also regularly hosts state and regional competitions, including the 2016 Horizon League Swimming and Diving Championships.
The venue features a 50-meter stretch pool with two bulkheads, allowing flexible configurations for simultaneous swimming and diving events. The competition area includes eight 25-yard lanes with additional lanes for warm-up. The pool ranges from approximately nine feet deep at the start end to six feet, eight inches at the turn end. Meet operations are powered by a Colorado System with Hytek Meet Manager and a Colorado scoreboard.
The diving well includes two one-meter boards, two three-meter boards, and a five-meter platform, all Durafirm Maxi-B models on concrete platforms. With spectator seating for 1,000 and deck space for 400 participants, the Oakland Aquatic Center is built to host high-level competition and deliver a top-tier athlete and fan experience.
