Bill Macauley has been a part of the Oakland University family for 24 years and has filled many roles. To the Athletic Department, Bill has been a friend, supporter, confidant and ally.
His official title and affiliation with Golden Grizzlies athletics is NCAA Faculty Athletics Representative. Unofficially, he is an avid fan and supporter of the athletic departments 14 sports. As the FAR, Macauley serves as the bridge for communications between intercollegiate athletics, student-athletes and the faculty at OU.
Macauley has worn many hats at Oakland. He has served as the Director of OU's Masters of Public Administration program, as Chair of the Political Science Department and as the interim Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. Macauley is currently the Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.
Macauley holds bachelors (Central Methodist College `63), masters (Missouri `65), and doctorate (Houston `75) degrees in political science and has been at Oakland University since 1978.
When he's not entrenched in his work at Oakland, Macauley enjoys cooking, exercising, playing billiards and golf, watching old movies, and riding his motorcycle.
Macauley resides in Rochester, Michigan with his wife, Lori (OU Class of 1982). Macauley has a son, Steve, and a daughter, Sandy, and three grandchildren - Cale, Marley, and Tyler.
