INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The league announced on Wednesday that
Lydia Soldatke has been named the #HLSD Women's Swimmer of the Week for the week of January 7-13, marking the fourth time the freshman has received the honor.
Soldatke continued her impressive freshman season by sweeping the backstroke events during the team's tri-meet against Miami (OH) and Denison. She won the 100 back with a time of 53.8 and the 200 back in 1:56.84, further showcasing her strong first year with the Golden Grizzlies.
In the medley relays, Soldatke set her teams up for success right from the start. Her leadoff back split times of 25.80 in the 200 medley and 54.76 in the 400 medley helped Oakland's A relay teams secure second-place finishes in both events.
Additionally, Soldatke competed in the freestyle relays during the tri-meet. In the 400 free relay, she swam a third-leg split of 50.85, contributing to another second-place relay victory. Her final event was the 200 free relay, where she competed on Oakland's B team and finished in sixth place.
With conferences beginning in just over a month, Soldatke and the team aim to achieve their best times of the season before traveling to Indianapolis, starting with their next meet against Wayne State on January 24.
