ROCHESTER, Mich. – Oakland University's own Tracy Huth has been named a finalist for the prestigious 2025 National Collegiate and Scholastic Trophy, as announced today by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).
The award, regarded as the highest honor in collegiate and scholastic swimming & diving, is presented annually in collaboration with the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association (NISCA). It recognizes individuals who have made the greatest contributions to the sport both competitively and as a healthful, recreational activity within undergraduate and scholastic education.
Huth joins an elite group of finalists, including UCLA's Cyndi Gallagher and Purdue's Adam Soldati. The winner will be chosen by CSCAA member coaches and will be honored at the 64th Annual CSCAA College Swimming & Diving Awards on May 5 in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Huth's career at Oakland University spans decades, first as a record-setting student-athlete and later as an accomplished coach and administrator. As a swimmer, Huth was a dominant force in NCAA Division II, securing 24 All-American honors, 13 individual national championships, and an unprecedented three NCAA Division II Swimmer of the Year titles. He remains the only swimmer in NCAA history to win both the 200- and 400-yard individual medley events in four consecutive seasons.
Transitioning to coaching, Huth led Oakland's women's swimming and diving program for 11 years, cementing its reputation as a powerhouse in Division II. His leadership helped propel the program to national prominence, with numerous athletes achieving All-American status and national recognition.
Beyond the pool, Huth served as Oakland's Athletic Director from 2007 to 2014, guiding the university through a historic transition from the Summit League to the Horizon League. Under his leadership, Oakland teams captured 73 conference championships and made 34 NCAA appearances. His vision also led to a $10.3 million investment in athletic facility enhancements, benefiting multiple sports programs and student-athletes alike.
Voting is open now through Tuesday, February 4, 2025.
